Be A Lifesaver – Volunteer!

Do you love dogs and want to make a difference in their lives?

Consider this: K-9 Lifesavers is always looking for dedicated individuals to get involved. If you thought you didn’t have the time or the experience necessary to be a volunteer, think again!

As an all-volunteer organization, K-9 Lifesavers is entirely dependent on the generosity of the community. We depend on generous, caring individuals to provide time and expertise.

YOUR involvement is the key to our ongoing success. You can help fulfill K-9 Lifesavers mission of a safe haven for homeless and abandoned dogs.

Adoption Events

Requires the unique ability to work well with both animals and humans representing K-9 Lifesavers and promoting our organization at neighborhood adoptions and community outreach events.

Volunteers under 18 yrs. old must have written parental permission.

Adoption Counselors

Educate new pet owners and potential adopters and assist with the adoption process. This includes: explaining adoption procedures, educating about animal care (preventative care, food, exercise, training, socialization, crating, grooming, vet visits, etc), reviewing adoption applications, follow up calls, paperwork, checking adoption paperwork, and updating the pet-portal.

Transportation

We are always in need of help transporting our dogs to vet appointments, grooming, or adoption events.

Must be at least 18 years old and be fully insured.

Fundraising & Marketing

If you have experience as a fundraiser, we can use your help! If you would like to organize a fundraising event, please let us know. Any and all ideas are welcome.

We also need help with Flyer circulation announcing special events–posting them & keeping them current.

Grant Writers

Find grant opportunities for K-9 Lifesavers throughout the year.

Administrative Assistants

Updating the web page/pet-portal, entering updated pictures, answering general e-mail, face book, MySpace, creating new dog blogs, writing thank you letters, and making follow up calls for spay/neuter.

Somewhere a shelter dog is awaiting a gentle touch, a kind word, a soft bed to sleep on. Won’t you help make this come true for them?
